We are sisters, Ellen Cairns and Sarah Loweth, born and raised in Houston, Texas. We grew up embracing both our father’s Dutch ancestry and our mother’s love for shopping to give the best gifts!

One of our favorite childhood outings was going to the Little Dutch Store in Old Town Spring, Texas, and bringing home all sorts of Dutch goodies, such as a pair of wooden shoes to play dress up, or some stroopwafels (a yummy Dutch syrup cookie)! These memories helped us pick the name Winkel, which means “the shop” in Dutch.
